Our Long Travel Rear Shock Mount Kit is the perfect solution for being able to run a higher end shock in the rear of your OBS Ford. This kit comes with new upper shock mounts that also act as an additional crossmember for the frame and new shock mounts for the axle. The new upper shock mounts are able to be positioned ~2.5" higher than the OEM mounts and the new shock mounts on the axle give you an additional ~1.5" for a total of ~4" over stock.
With the mounts positioned for the longest shock, without cutting into the bed, you can run a 12" shock at the factory F350 4wd rear suspension height.
This is a weld together kit so that you can position the mounts in a way that works best for your application and the shocks of your choosing. Pairing this shock mount kit with our LT Rear Leaf Spring Kit will give you the ability to use all of that extra travel gained from the new rear suspension.
The upper shock mounts and frame brackets are made with 1/4" plate steel and 1.5" x 0.188" DOM tube and the axle brackets are made with 1/4" plate steel. The upper shock mount brackets bolt to the original shock mount location on the frame.
We are offering these with either 1/2" or M14 shock mount holes and hardware. If you are getting King 2.5" x 12" Piggyback shocks from us then you will need the M14 holes. If you are unsure of what size holes and hardware you will need, we recommend ordering the 1/2" option and you can drill them out if need be.
Whats Included:
- Upper and lower shock mount brackets
- DOM tube for upper shock mounts
- Hardware for the shock mounts to frame and for the shocks
- Install Instructions
Notes:
- Welding is required on both the upper and lower shock mounts
- It does not require any bed modifications but you will most likely have to loosen your bed and lift it ~1.5" to get the upper shock mount tube in and out due to minimal clearance between the bottom of the bed and the frame.
- If your truck has a gooseneck hitch or 5th wheel hitch, this kit may interfere. Please compare the pictures to what your truck looks like to see if you will have to modify anything.
